Programme General Information

Taking into account the rapid changes in Computer Technology, and the government’s policy regarding direct entry for students in the undergraduate programs, the Department is running non-degree programs for certificates and diploma in Computer Science. These programs are run as evening programs

The programme emphasizes the importance of practical content, which address the needs of the market and concentrate on the essentials of systems analysis, softwares and applications programming.

The graduates at both levels are expected to offer technical support to Software Engineers, Systems Analysts, Network Designers etc., in the field of Computer Science (CS), Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) and Computer Engineering.

Certificate Expected Learning Outcomes

The Certificate graduates will be able to join diploma Programmes in the related fields. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will have skills required to work as basic

technicians in:-

a) User support.

b) Network Administration.

c) Web Masters.

d) Database administration.

e) Computer hardware and software maintenance.

Also, it stands as a bridging course for the graduates to join the diploma programmes in the related fields offered by the department and other recognized institutions.

Diploma Expected Learning Outcomes

This is an evening offered programme ran by the department. Upon successfully completion of the programme, graduates will have skills required to work as full technicians in:

a) User support.

b) Network Administration.

c) Web Masters.

d) Database administration.

e) Computer hardware and software maintenance.

Also, it stands as a bridging course for the graduates to join the degree programmes in the related fields offered by the department and other recognized institutions.
