Dr Ruthbetha Kateule

About me
I am a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT), University of Dar es Salaam. I received an undergraduate degree, BSc in Computer Science from the University of Dar es Salaam (2009), MSc in Computer Science from Periyar University in India (2012). I have also received a PhD in Software Engineering from the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in Germany (2019).

My main research interests are in the fields of Software Engineering, Information Systems, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence. These fields stimulate deep and fascinating scientific problems which promote the understanding of the underlying science of computers to facilitate the development of innovative solutions that would make the ICT solutions to be of more helpful to us.   Research topics that I am working on, or have recently worked on, include:

  1. Modelling and Transformation
  2. Operator- based Viewpoints Definition
  3. Software and Reference Architectures
  4. Exploring the Information Flow Challenges
  5. AI for Predictive Analytics
  6. Verbal Autopsy (VA) approaches in determining Causes of Death.
