Dr Ellen Ambakishe Kalinga holds a PhD Degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Dar es Salaam (2011) majoring in Software Engineering using Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) Approach, a degree of Licentiate of Technology (Technoscience Studies) from Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) in Sweden (2008), an MSc in Electronics Engineering and Information Technology (EEIT) from University of Dar es salaam (2002), and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics (BE E&E) from the University of Mysore in India (1989).
Dr Kalinga is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of the College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT), University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). Her main research areas of interest are e-Learning and Software Engineering. Currently, she is participating in the iGRID Smart Metering and Training Programme which is one of the research projects at CoICT.

Dr Kalinga has participated in several research and consultancy projects. Also, she has supervised several postgraduate research students and has written academic articles published in journals and presented in conferences as seen in her Google Scholar account.

Professional certification
Dr Kalinga is a registered engineer by the Tanzania Engineer’s Registration Board (ERB) since 1998 and a Member of the Institute of Engineers Tanzania (IET) since 1998.
Leadership role
Dr Kilinga has been a Deputy Principal in the College of Information and Communication Technologies since 2018.
