The iGRID Research Project is focusing on addressing different challenges facing the microgrids of the electrical secondary distribution network in Tanzania through the use of smart autonomous solutions. The research project is led by Prof Nerey Mvungi as the Principal Investigator in collaboration with other researchers at CoICT. The project involves researchers at MSC and PhD levels who are working on different aspects of autonomous microgrid challenges. A group of PhD scholars are researching on how to address the challenge of inefficient power system and unreliability of electrical secondary distribution network.
