Dr Wilbard Nyamwihula in summary

Dr Wilbard Nyamwihula is currently a lecture in Computer Engineering and Information Technology in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He has over 20 years of experience across many areas of IT enterprise, cloud computing, embedded systems and automation, including security and network management and administration, software development, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and Big Data Analytics. Also, he has experiences in Systems and Software quality assurance and control for organizations' endeavour of digital transformation to meet evolving market needs, customer requirements and expectations, statutory laws, standards and stringent regulatory requirements, operational excellence, and reduce business risks.

Dr Nyamwihula received BSc, in Electrical Engineering, MSc. In Computer Science, and PhD in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from University of Dar es Salaam in 1999, 2008, and 2020 respectively. He is a Certified EMC Proven Professional - Information Storage Associate (EMCISA) and Data Lakes for Big Data. Dr Nyamwihula is a member of various organizations which includes IEEE, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and Tanzania Engineers Registration Board (ERB).


Teaching Responsibilities 

As a Lecturer, Dr Nyamwihula teaches and supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students for the courses related to:

  1. Microprocessors and embedded systems,
  2. Software quality assurance and testing,
  3. Data Science
  4. Big Data analytics,
  5. Artificial Intelligence (AI),
  6. Cloud computing focusing on cloud infrastructure and services.


Research and Consultancies 
Dr, Nyamwihula conducts research and consultancy on digital transformation, cybersecurity and innovation. His research interests in digital transformation, security and innovations include cloud architecting and orchestration for cloud computing adoption by organizations, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence & ML, data science and big data analytics, embedded systems and automation, and systems and software quality assurance and control for customer requirements and expectations, statutory laws, standards and stringent regulatory requirements, operational excellence, and reduce business risks in this digital age.
