On Thursday 28th October this week, the Computer Science and Engineering Department and the rest of CoICT family, welcomed the newly registered students for the academic 2021/2022. The event took place in the Luhanga Hall at CoICT Kijitonyama Campus. In this new academic year, about 530 students have been admitted to join our department. Among them;

  1. About 300 students have joined undergraduate programmes doing either BSc in Computer Science (BSC CS), BSc in Computer Engineering and Information Technology (BSc CEIT), or BSc in Business Information Technology (BSc BIT).

The department is inviting all new students to our campus and encouraging them to seek information or support they may need from our staff at the registration desk or the Head of Department Ofice located in Block A, Room number 1, just as you enter the front main entry at CoICT.

Lectures will start effectively from 07:00am on Monday 1st November as scheduled, so all students and advised to familiarise themselves with the University Timetable and classroom to make sure they don't miss classes. In the first week, reporting students can attend lectures and continue with the registration process during their free time. The University regulations require every student to attend all lectures for each course. Missing even one lecture may cost you substantially and affect your performance at the end of the semester.

Moreover, students are advised to dedicate time to read all the documents in their welcome packs and all information posted on the CoICT website as it has been advised during the orientation. Consulting the information provided to you at this early stage is important to make smooth your stay on campus and avoid unnecessary inconveniences in the future. You may also be assisted or directed where to find help by consulting CoICT DARUSO leaders (See them HERE).

Remember, time is the most valuable resource at the University. Use it wisely and productively. The CSE team is here to support and guide you to make true your dream to become a competent professional in the computing field.
