Once again, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is celebrating the achievements of its postgraduate students. Three PhD students, who are also members of staff at CoICT, successfully defended their PhD Dissertations in the month of December.

DR SHAMTE KAWAMBWA
Dr Shamte Kawambwa
is an academic staff member in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE). He defended his PhD dissertation in a viva voce held on 6th December 2021. His dissertation focused on developing the Use of Artificial Intelligence Techniques for Placement and Coordination of Distributed Energy Resources to Enhance Service Restoration in the Secondary Electrical Distribution Network.



DR DAUDI CHARLES MNYANGHWALO
Dr Daudi Mnyanghwalo
is an academic staff member in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department. He defended his PhD dissertation in a viva voce held on 10th December 2021. His dissertation focused on Internet of Things (IoT) Sensor Networks for Optimisation of Faults Detection and Classification in Secondary Electrical Distribution Networks.



DR GODFREY CHUGULU
Dr Godfrey Chugulu
is a staff member in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE). He defended his PhD dissertation in a viva voce held on 13th December 2021. His dissertation focused on Hybrid Communication Architecture to Facilitate Automatic Faults Detection and Clearance in Secondary Electrical Power Distribution Network Based on Hierarchical Computing Techniques.
