Dr Abdulla Ally is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a PhD in Systems Analysis and Integration Engineering from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, China. He received his Masters in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Hons), both, from the University of Dar es Salaam. His research interests include Computer Networking, Network Science, Modelling of Networks and Dynamic Processes, Data Mining, Systems Analysis and Design, and Systems Integration and Interoperability. He currently serves as Acting Managing Director of the University of Dar es Salaam Computing Centre.

Dr Ally is a renowned consultant and has participated actively in several ICT projects under the Government and Non-Government Organisations funded by several agencies such as Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and PEPFAR through the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr Ally has coordination and administrative roles in various ICT projects such as the development and implementation of education management systems, financial management systems, and Monitoring & Evaluation Systems in East Africa and other local and international stakeholders. He is currently coordinating the countrywide deployment and maintenance of Afyacare, CTC and Biometric project in several Referral Regional Hospital in Tanzania.
