Joseph Cosmas is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He received his BSc. Computer Science degree from University of Dar es Salaam, thereafter Msc. Information and Communication Systems Engineering from the Wuhan University of Technology in Wuhan city, P. R. China. He is also holding a PhD in Computer Science attained from the University of Dar es Salaam.
His research interests span both Computer Networking and Network Science. Much of his work has been on improving the understanding, design, and performance of network algorithms and mobile computing. In the networking arena, he has worked on improving load balance in the routing algorithm of the mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) by enhancing multilayered functionalities of Internet Protocol (IP) to device security mitigation on mobile data connectivity, and web services workloads distribution in mobile data connectivity.
