Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Welcome to the official website of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of the University of Dar es Salaam. Our department is one of the core academic units of the College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT), a campus college of the University of Dar es Salaam. The department’s core mission is to provide quality teaching, research, and public services (consultancy) in its core disciplines of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Information Systems.

Situated within the CoICT Kijitonyama Campus, the CSE department can easily be reached from all angles of the Dar es Salaam City and it provides a conducive environment for learning, teaching, and research. For the past ten years, the department has been progressively improving our programmes, teaching approaches, and the way we manage undergraduate and postgraduate students. Likewise, the department has been improving access to facilities such as laboratories, classrooms, and reference materials, together with strengthening our human resource capacity consistent with the dynamic and changing technological trends of the computing field.
